So, you’ve finally made the decision to pull the trigger and do an IUI.  There’s a sense of relief because everything is going to taken care of for you.  You don’t have to think about it much. You don’t have to pee on a stick to test for ovulation and you don’t have to dread the baby dance.

You go get bloodwork and you’re given instructions on what to do.  But you’re also reading online about the different drugs that can be used, different dosages and you’re wondering if the drugs you’re given or the dosage is going to work.  And then there’s the procedure itself, doctors throw out these numbers out at you, and there’s something about “washing the sperm.” It seems so overwhelming and so confusing.

So in this episode, we’re going to talk about:

  • the different types of drugs that are used and why a doctor will use each one
  • Then, we’re going to talk about step by step the IUI procedure itself and what you should expect.

I hope to offer some clarity so that it doesn’t seem like a huge mystery.  And the next time you’re in a doctor’s office, you’ll know exactly what they’re talking about.

If you already know all this info and you don’t want to listen to this episode, no worries.  I’ll be back next week with my right hand person Jocey to talk about myths and truths of trying to conceive.
